Hollywood Black Film Festival 2009

Yvonne, like many actresses in Los Angeles, tries to balance the pursuit of a successful career with the desire for a meaningful relationship with 'Mr. Right.'. It is the desire for the latter that usually lands her in trouble. When she finally meets Clint, her 'Mr. Right' in the supermarket, her best friend Tanya, who also lives in the same apartment building, thinks Clint is too good to be true. Yvonne soon realizes that her friend is right when after a night on the town, Clint tries to rape Yvonne in her own apartment. Luckily for her, Napoleon, the strange aloof guy from upstairs hears her scream, kicks in her door and knocks Clint unconscious. Later, as the rest of her friends in the building gather in support, Yvonne flashes back to a traumatic childhood event and suddenly snaps, stabbing Clint as he lays helpless on the floor. Now, it's up to the witnesses, Yvonne's friends and fellow residents: Tanya, Napoleon, Stephanie, the single mother and Conrad, the comedian to dispose of Clint's body and rally around her in order to protect from all possible threats, including the snooping Detective Combs....because 'that's what good neighbors do.'
